Scenic Acres Homes For Sale
Scenic Acres is a community in the northwest quadrant of Calgary. It is a community that got its name from some of the breathtaking views afforded by its position. Not only are the Rocky Mountains visible to the south, there are also the Paskapoo Slopes and the Bow River Valley to look at as well. In 2006, the population of Scenic Acres was around 9000 people. It is one of the most sought-after places to live in the northwest quadrant.
Scenic Acres is conveniently located near the Crowfoot Centre, one of the northwest’s largest shopping centers, where residents can find numerous supermarkets, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. There is also the Crowfoot C-Train LRT station, for anyone who needs quick and easy access to downtown. You can reach the Trans-Canada highway within minutes, thanks to the newly constructed ring road Stoney Trail. From Scenic Trails it is easy to access the mountains, or just the local ski hill Canada Olympic Park.
Scenic Acres is a wonderful community for those with young families. Living in Scenic Acres offerings some of the tranquility and beauty of country living, while still offering easy and intimate access to the rest of the city. For those with kids in elementary school, there is both a public and a separate elementary school in the area. The Scenic Acres Elementary School is a great school, which focuses on fostering the learning and development of young children. It has historically cultivated strong home-school relations, and is interested in parent feedback as a way of strengthening its programs.
The community association has been active since its inception in 1985 when only 10% of the community had been built. It has long been a fierce advocate for the rights of its citizens and was responsible for a large variety of significant changes to the area that continue to benefit residents of Scenic Acres to this day.
Most of the residents of Scenic Acres are well-educated professionals. Homes for sale in the area start at around $350,000 but average out at $500,000. The average price per square foot is about $300 depending on the week. With the exception of a handful of joined single family residents, most of the buildings in the area are detached single family residents.
